Etymology: Formation in -έα (Chantraine Formation 91f.) after unknown example; also further dark. Dittenberger ad loc. reminds of γοργυρα, γέργυρα, γοργύριον `id.' (Hdt. 3, 145, H.; cf. s. v.) and κορκόδρυα (κορκορρόα Lobeck) ὑδρόρυα H.; the variation shows a Pre-Greek word.
